Well just like everybody would say... I am too, not a very religious person. And I am not writing this post to promote any certain religion.
But there was something ticked my mind. Honestly, most of the time I was in the House of God, my mind would go wander and wander. Never once I had my focus 100 percent on the ritual, honestly, I found it boring and hard to enjoy. I dont know how people absorb and enjoy it.
So there was this line that say, Be careful! When you do good things, don't do them in front of people to be seen by them. If you do that, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven.
In my opinion... well... this quote is from the Christian Bible, but I do not really agree. To me it is somehow not consistent to the context. But then again it is understandable.
When you say it like that, then it is implied that people should do good things just for the rewards... by doing good secretly...
I always believe doing good deeds is for the sake of goodness it self.
NEVERTHELESS then, yes I agree, doing good deeds for fame is way too low.
Be humble for what you do. And patience to see fruit, and thats goodness all around you.
May your heart filled with peace, goodness, and gladness.
In the spirit for Ash Wednesday. <for those who celebrate>
